Placeholder Feed Item Report: Problems with Zero Impression Rows

2014-11-11 Thread peter . rietzler
When I post the AWQL query
SELECT FeedId, FeedItemId, Status, ValidationDetails FROM
PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM
I get back a the following error
HTTP Response Code: 400, Type: QueryError.DATE_COLUMN_REQUIRES_DURING_CLAUSE

In contrast, when using a ReportDefinition with includeZeroImpressions set
to true, I do get back that data as expected. It seems that the Date column
is included automatically, which in turn leads to the fact that we cannot
get zero impression rows via AWQL because a segment is included.

Is there any other way to get this data via AWQL ?

Thanks!
Peter

Ads in removed AdGroups

2014-11-11 Thread Pearl Jam

In the past we have noticed that even for Ads from deleted AdGroups a
policycheck was done.
That's why we startet to delete all Ads from deleted Adgroups.
Since the API version v201406 this is no longer possible.
Does this mean that Keywords and Ads in an removed Adgroup will not be
checked anymore?
Or do we have to remove all contained ads and keywords before removing the
Adgroup?

Thanks
Jam

Shopping Campaigns: Destination Domain

2014-11-11 Thread Mahantesh Patil
Hello:

I need Destination Url or Domain associated with my shopping campaign. I
checked SHOPPING_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, it displayed MerchantId but not the
domain, destination url, home page url associated with the shopping
campaign.

Appreciate any pointers to get *domain for shopping campaign.*

Thanks in advance

Re: Ads in removed AdGroups

2014-11-11 Thread Michael Cloonan (AdWords API Team)
Hello Jam,

What exactly are you referring to when you say "policycheck"? Are you
talking about the check that makes sure that ads are valid and able to
serve?

If so, then you should be safe to simply remove the ad group, leaving the
ads within it in place without having to expressly delete them separately.

Regards,
Mike, AdWords API Team

Feed Item Mapping Validation Information via API ?

2014-11-11 Thread peter . rietzler
I am wondering how I can get validation information for feed items via the
API.

I am currently using the FeedItemService. Here is what I experience at the
moment when using the selector "ValidationDetails":

If an item awaits approval, then the validationDetails property is not set
at all.
If an item is either approved or disapproved, then the validationDetails
property is set, but no validationErrors are delivered.

In the Adwords UI I can see, disapproval reasons, e.g. "Guns & parts". I
hoped, that I can access this information via the validationErrors
property.

Is there any other way to get the information or am I doing something wrong
?

Thanks!
Peter

// --- here is Groovy code snippet that should conceptually show what I am
doing ---

adwordsDataService.getFeedItems(account, feedId).eachWithIndex { item, i ->

println "$item.feedItemId ($i)"
if(item.validationDetails) {
item.validationDetails.each {
println " $it.approvalStatus / $it.validationStatus"
if(it.validationErrors) {

Could you elaborate on how you would utilize the destination URL column in

Thanks,

ReportDefinitionError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME_FOR_REPORT', Trigger = 'Cannot select a combination of

2014-11-11 Thread Sage Lewis
I'm working on setting up a campaign performance report with these fields:
'CampaignName','Impressions','Clicks', 'AverageCpc', 'AveragePosition',
'ConversionRate', 'Conversions', 'EstimatedTotalConversions', 'Cost',
'AdNetworkType1', 'Device', 'ClickType'

When I add 'ClickType' I get this error:

An error has occurred: Report download failed. Underlying errors are Type =
'ReportDefinitionError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME_FOR_REPORT', Trigger = 'Cannot
select a combination of EstimatedTotalConversions and
AdvertiserExperimentId,ClickType,HourOfDay,ImpressionTypeId,Slot,SocialAnnotationType,TargetingType',

FieldPath = 'EstimatedTotalConversions'.

It appears my 'EstimatedTotalConversions' is conflicting with 'ClickType'.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Peter,

The PLACEHOLDER_FEED_ITEM_REPORT does not support zero impressions when run

Re: ReportDefinitionError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME_FOR_REPORT', Trigger = 'Cannot select a combination of

2014-11-11 Thread Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)
Hi,

Certain metrics are not calculated at the ClickType level, so rather than
show misleading or incorrect data for those metrics, AdWords rejects any
report request that combines one of those metrics with the ClickType field.
This is similar to how the UI behaves - see the *Report is missing sum
totals* section of this Help Center article
.

If you need one of those metrics and you need information by ClickType,
then you'll have to run two separate reports: one that includes the metric
but does not include ClickType, and another that only includes
ClickType-compatible metrics and includes ClickType.

Cheers,
Josh, AdWords API Team

Thank you so much for your speedy answer here.

In fear of even mentioning it, EstimatedTotalConversions and ClickType are
required minimum functionality. I know you can't comment on that. But
because that's the case is there any possibility that down the road
EstimatedTotalConversions and ClickType could be included in the same
