TrafficEstimatorService

Hi,

The TrafficEstimatorService seems to return same keyword estimates
irrespective of providing campaign information(campaignId) to the API.
I get *Estimated daily cost* which is more than the* Campain daily budget*.
Shouldn't it be less than the daily budget? Basically i get the same
estimation values irrespective of providing the campaignId. Please advice.

Re: IMplementing Ad Parameters

2011-05-05 Thread Evgeniy Bogdanov
Hi Peter.

To tell you the truth I don't see any huge problem.
The main problem here is linking with current ads+keywords and your
code.

You can link existing ads or create new one.
After the you just need to go throw your keywords and check for
'blue', 'red'.

For example:
Table will should help you you:

keyword   | P1| P2
blue antique cups | 50 | 20$
red antique  cups  | 10 | 12$

So you just need to create keywords with desired differentiator and
point parameters for it.
Source of keywords for your program can be feed or something like
that.

RESPONSE_SIZE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED paging does not work URGENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2011-05-05 Thread javeed
Hi All,

I am facing a very typical problem.

I have 11700 Keywords and i try to get the keyword using
AdGroupCriterionService, Initial it throws an exception
RESPONSE_SIZE_LIMIT_EXCEEDE.

But i know that reason. So i try to add paging to the request.

Here is the code.

AdGroupCriterionServiceInterface criterionService =
googleServiceFactory.getAdWordsService(user,
AdWordsService.V201008.ADGROUP_CRITERION_SERVICE);
AdGroupCriterionIdFilter[] idFilters = {new
AdGroupCriterionIdFilter(googleCampaign.getId(),null, null)} ;
AdGroupCriterionSelector agcSelector = new
AdGroupCriterionSelector(idFilters , null, null, null, null, null);
agcSelector.setIdFilters(idFilters);
agcSelector.setCriterionUse(CriterionUse.BIDDABLE);
Integer startIndex = 0;
Integer endIndex = 5000;
Paging paging = new Paging();
paging.setStartIndex(startIndex);
paging.setNumberResults(endIndex);
agcSelector.setPaging(paging);
AdGroupCriterionPage criterionPage =
criterionService.get(agcSelector);

This works fine. And i can get all the 5000 keywords.

But when i try to iterate and increment the EndIndex and StartIndex ..
to
startIndex = endIndex ;
endIndex = startIndex + 5000;

I can get values till 6700 and then it says

java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 6700
at
com.google.api.adwords.v201008.cm.AdGroupCriterionPage.getEntries(cm:AdGroupCriterionPage.java):
53)

Does the GetEntries has any size limit too ?

Can some one tell me what to do.. I have done everything what Adwords
have told in previous questions. But i did not get it work.

Quick reply is appreciated !!

thank you guys

Re: IMplementing Ad Parameters

2011-05-05 Thread Peter Stannett
Hi

thanks for the reply. I am still unsure how this would be implemented
effectively for my client. Effectively if I write the script to set the
price for blue antique cups to £30 and the amount of stock as 18, and then
my clients stock changes to £20 and 10 cups, then my advert would be wrong
as I would have coded it to say £30 and 18.

I would then have to manually amend the php script, when I might as well
amend the ads! I was thinking this would automatically set the price and
quantity available without any manual intervention. However I do not have a
feed of the prices as such, except for a datafeed that is used for the
merchant centre.

So I am confused as to how I would actually implement this!

Adding ~800 text ads is best done with the AdGroupAdService. The

Re: IMplementing Ad Parameters

2011-05-05 Thread Evgeniy Bogdanov
You just need to store values in database.

For example in such table:
product | price | count | ad group id | keyword id | date.

Every time when your script will get new merchant feed it should
compare current price and database value.
If they differs you just need to update parameters in Adwords and your
database.
If some products is missing in feed they should be stoped.

As the result you need to build script which will be able
to create new keywords and parameters and update-delete (based on your
logic) old automatically.

Hi All,

As an update, the v13 report truncation issue was resolved earlier this
week. Let us know if you see this behavior come up again.

In regards to v201101 cross-client reports, we recognize that there is a
problem right now, but the functionality is not yet officially released and
we will update the blog when it is ready.

Just "auto" being returned for displayNetworkMaxCPC

As of today pulling an AdGroup report using v201101 results in just

Get Ad headline, desc1, desc2, etc.

2011-05-05 Thread lowlevelbass
Hello all.

I'm fairly new to the AdWords API so please be kind. I was wondering
if there is a way to pull ad information (headline, desc1, desc2,
etc.) by the creative id.

The only way I can currently find to get this information is to get
all the campaigns, get all the ad groups and then get all of the ads
and single out the ad for which I'm looking. Is there a getCreative
example out there that I'm missing? I haven't been able to find it in
any of the documentation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using the PHP Client Library by the way.

Thanks!

TargetingIdeaSelector - Paging maximum number of results value

2011-05-05 Thread Up Spin Software, LLC
I am currently developing against the API Sandbox since my developer token
is pending approval.

That said, I have a question about the maximum value you can set for the
numberResults for the Paging object specified for the TargetingIdeaSelector.

In the Sandbox, no matter what value I specify above 100, such as 800, only
100 results are returned. This is even the case if I page from 1-99,
100-199 and so on. I understand this may be a limitation of the Sandbox and
only 100 results will be returned regardless of the seed keyword.

Will this be the case when making requests against the live API? Or can
anyone provide more information about the maximum value that can be set for
the number of results that can be returned when making one
TargetingIdeaService request to get related keyword ideas.

Thanks,

Kyle

Re: Get Ad headline, desc1, desc2, etc.

2011-05-05 Thread jstedman
I use the Java API mostly, but I think the issue your having is
something I went through recently, CreativeID has become AdID, if you
use the AdGroupAd service you can use a selector with a filter on the
AdID(which used to be CreativeID but is actually field id as far as
the selector is concerned) you can get what you need. The thing to
note about the new AdGroupAd service(among others) is that the api
docs do not show you all fields that are selectable/filterable on any
one page, the available fields depend on the Ad.Type that you are
requesting information for, so if your ad is a TextAd you have to get
fields that are not listed as fields on the Ad specification (http://
code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/reference/latest/
AdGroupAdService.Ad.html) from the more specific Ad.Type specification
(http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/reference/latest/
AdGroupAdService.TextAd.html). You will notice that the id(AdID) field
is selectable and filterable for all Ad.Type : Ad so if you put a
filter in a selector on field "id" the selector should get you the ad
with that id.

Note that you need to know already what type of ad you are trying to
get fields for because in 201101 there are Ad.Type instances that do
not have description fields(ie: ImageAd). Also, note that desc1 and
desc2 are no longer valid field names, they have been changed to
description1 and description2.

Hope this helps you out.

InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR in CustomerSyncService

2011-05-05 Thread jchan
Hello everyone,

I've recently been working with a new adwords account and I've been
getting a
InternalApiError.UNEXPECTED_INTERNAL_API_ERROR @
[Ljava.lang.StackTraceElement;@8f692e
after using CustomerSyncService.Get on the Campaigns in this account.
The error pops up on different campaigns at different attempts so it
doesn't seem to be consistently having a problem with just one
campaign.

I have only seen this happen to one adwords account among many that
I've been working with. The incoming soap log entry doesn't seem to
exist for this particular error but here's a successful request for
another campaign in this account.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joshua

Question about Traffic Estimator Service figures

2011-05-05 Thread Donald
Hi,

I've been trying out the example code to view the traffic estimator
service figures.

My adwords account is configured to use INR as the currency.

Here's a sample result that I managed to obtain:

Results for the keyword with text 'dog breeds' and match type 'EXACT':
Estimated average CPC: 73289264 Estimated ad position: 1.00 Estimated
daily clicks: 147 Estimated daily cost: 10849857024

The estimated average CPC and estimated daily cost do not seem to make
sense.

I referred to this post:
http://groups.google.com/group/adwords-api/msg/644c17da6ab3c04e?pli=1
in which Eric Koleda has mentioned what the possible problem is.

I've set MaxCpc in this fashion: $adGroupEstimateRequest->maxCpc = new
Money(100);

What is the correct manner to retrieve meaningful results in terms of
INR, and USD?

I'd greatly appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Thanks for your help jstedman. I'm digging into the docs you provided. No
luck yet, but I'm getting closer with your help. Thanks for your quick
response.

Trying to Make ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

2011-05-05 Thread Ron Jacobson
I run the following to see the available fields for an
account_performance_report:

php GetReportFields.php
The report type 'ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT' contains the following
fields:
- AccountCurrencyCode (String)
- AccountDescriptiveName (String)
- AccountTimeZoneId (Integer)
- AdNetworkType1 (AdNetworkType1) := [SEARCH, CONTENT]
- AdNetworkType2 (AdNetworkType2) := [SEARCH, SEARCH_PARTNERS,
CONTENT]
- AverageCpc (Money)
- AverageCpm (Money)
- AveragePosition (Double)
- BudgetLostImpressionShare (Double)
- Clicks (Long)
- ClickType (ClickType) := [URL_CLICKS, CALLS, OTHER,
PRODUCT_EXTENSION_CLICKS, SITELINKS, PRODUCT_LISTING_AD_CLICKS,
GET_DIRECTIONS, OFFER_PRINTS]
- ConversionCategoryName (String)
- ConversionRate (Double)
- ConversionRateManyPerClick (Double)
- Conversions (Long)
- ConversionsManyPerClick (Long)
- ConversionTypeName (String)
- ConversionValue (Long)
- Cost (Money)
- CostPerConversion (Money)
- CostPerConversionManyPerClick (Money)
- Ctr (Double)
- CustomerDescriptiveName (String)
- Date (Date)
- DayOfWeek (DayOfWeek) := [MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY,
FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY]
- Device (DeviceType) := [DESKTOP, HIGH_END_MOBILE]
- ExactMatchImpressionShare (Double)
- ExternalCustomerId (Long)
- HourOfDay (Integer)

The ones I care about are Date,Cost and Impressions. I then make the
following script to try to make a ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT with the
above listed fields.

LogDefaults();
  $reportDefinitionService = $user-
>GetReportDefinitionService('v201101');
  $adGroupId = (float) '(hiding number)';
  $startDate = '20110501';
  $endDate = '20110502';
  $selector = new Selector();
  $selector->fields = array('Date','Imps','Spend');
  $selector->dateRange = new DateRange($startDate, $endDate);
  var_dump($selector);
  $adGroupIdPredicate = new Predicate('AdGroupId', 'EQUALS',
array($adGroupId));
  $selector->predicates = array($adGroupIdPredicate);
  // Create report definition.
  $reportDefinition = new ReportDefinition();
  $reportDefinition->reportName = "Test Report";
  $reportDefinition->dateRangeType = 'YESTERDAY';
$reportDefinition->reportType = 'ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT';
  $reportDefinition->downloadFormat = 'CSV';
  $reportDefinition->selector = $selector;

  // Create operations.
  $operation = new ReportDefinitionOperation();
  $operation->operand = $reportDefinition;
  $operation->operator = 'ADD';

  $operations = array($operation);

  // Add report definition.
  $result = $reportDefinitionService->mutate($operations);

  // Display report definitions.
  if ($result != null) {
foreach ($result as $reportDefinition) {
  printf("Report definition with name '%s' and id '%s' was added.
\n",
  $reportDefinition->reportName, $reportDefinition->id);
}
  } else {
print "No report definitions were added.\n";
  }
} catch (Exception $e) {
  print $e->getMessage();
}

When I run, I get the following output:

Dev~21:49:55 v201101$ php AddAccountPerformanceReport.php
ReportDefinitionError.INVALID_FIELD_NAME_FOR_REPORT @ ;
trigger:'Imps'Dev~21:49:58 v201101$

I don't understand why the field names are invalid as the earlier
GetReportFields output included the field names I'm loking for.

Any help that anyone can provide would be great.

Thanks!!

Re: Trying to Make ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

2011-05-05 Thread jstedman
Ron,

Imps is not a valid field for the ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT, neither
is Spend actually. Your printout of the field listing is incomplete,
but I am assuming that the rest of it just didn't make it to the
forum. For quick reference you could always use this page:

http://code.google.com/apis/adwords/docs/appendix/reports.html#account

I'm pretty sure getting the list of supported fields through the API
itself is more likely to stay up to date, but I have not had a problem
with that listing yet. The save to csv file helps too.
