import/export node issue

2009-06-12 Thread ksmith016
we are trying to move data from the CX to the Centera via TSM import/export
node utility. The performance so far has been only 1GB/hr.

What are other ways that we can utilize TSM to migrate data instead of
import/export node?

We are thinking of setting the current storage pools to read only and perform a
storage pool migration from the old storage pool to the new (Centera) storage
pool.

Any suggestions or ideas to accomplish this?

Thanks,
Kevin

migrating data from centera stgpool

2009-06-23 Thread ksmith016
Thanks for the response. However from the IBM documentation migration from and
into a CENTERA Storage Pool is not supported.

To use a Centera device, you must define a device class by issuing a DEFINE
DEVCLASS command with the DEVTYPE=CENTERA parameter.

The following server operations are not supported:

 * Migrating data into or out of a Centera storage pool.
 * Reclaiming a Centera storage pool.
 * Moving data into or out of a Centera storage pool.
 * Moving node data into or out of a Centera storage pool.
 * Backing up a Centera storage pool.
 * Copying active data to an active-data pool.
 * Restoring data from a copy storage pool or an active-data pool to a
Centera storage pool.
 * Backing up a storage pool to a Centera storage pool.
 * Restoring volumes in a Centera storage pool.
 * Exporting data to a Centera device class or importing data from a Centera
device class; however, files stored in Centera storage pools can be exported
and files being imported can be stored on Centera.

Is there another option to do this? What does it mean by "however, files
storaged in Centera storage pools can be exported and files being imported can
be stored on Centera"?

Thanks!
