server.
06/09/2003 17:09:49 Data unavailable to server

Answer for ANS4045W

2003-06-11 Thread Tao Jiang
Hi,

Thanks for Zlatko Krastev's information.

I found the reason of the problem ANS4045W. For two servers launched two same commands
to retrieve a same file from tape at the same time, sowehow it impacted the tapes'
data.

Appreciate,

Tao Jiang

There ought to be messages like 'ANR1411W Access mode for volume volume
name now set to "read-only" due to write error.', or ANR1417W, or
ANR1180W, or something similar.
Look the messages preceding it. They ought to explain why the volume is
suspected by the server and will guide you how to react.

But the message ANR0548W is not good - you may need to audit the volume
and/or the TSM server database.

Drives work concurrently

2003-07-25 Thread Tao Jiang
Hi, TSMers'

My LTO has two drivers/3583, I issued two command files to archive files
simultaneously to Library/3580.

set dsm_dir=c:\program files\tivoli\tsm\baclient
set dsm_opt=c:\program files\tivoli\tsm\baclient\dsm.opt
set dsm_config=c:\program files\tivoli\tsm\baclient\dsm.opt
pushd PATH
"c:\program files\tivoli\tsm\baclient\dsmc" archive filename nodename=servername
password=x

But the second one does not go through, Message is "Server media mount not possible"

I set up LTO dev class "Mount Limit=Drives" or "Mount Limit=2"

Application log

2002-10-09 Thread Tao Jiang

My server is TSM 4.2.1.0/Windows 2000 Server, Archive using API:

.\dsmadmc -id=admin -password=admin -outfile=NUL select * from archives
where LL_NAME=UPPER('%2')

But when it cannot find any record form database, TSM will write a log to
Windows System Event viewer->application,

TSM Server Error: Server: SERVER1 ANR2034E SELECT: No match found using this
criteria.

How to avoid to write this kind of log?

TSM 5.1.1.0

2002-10-30 Thread Tao Jiang
Hi,

My TSM 4.2.1/win2k NT worked well for a while. I upgraded it to 5.1.1.0. I did not
restore database, and device configuration, opt files etc...but it worked fine.
Recently I reinstall windows, install TSM 4.2.1 and install 5.1.1.0, go through
initializtion wizard. But I met the following problems:
ANR9956E Unable to load procedure address from dynamic link library ADSMLICN.DLL.

ANR2958E SQL temporary table storage has been exhausted..

I tried to extend db, but it does not work.

ANR2436E EXTEND DB: Insufficient space to extend database by requested amount..

Thanks for any information.

Re: TSM 5.1.1.0

2002-10-31 Thread Tao Jiang
Hi, all,

I update it from 5.1.1.0 to 5.1.5.1, and restore db, but space is still not
sufficient. so I format it:
dsmserv format 1 log1.dsm 9 1 db1.dsm 50. and restore db succeed.
I am not sure if ANR2958E will happen again.

Does V5 have database size problem? I don't have it on v4.2.1.0 at all.

(ANR2958E SQL temporary table storage has been exhausted..)

Maybe keeping on 4.2.1.0 is not a bad idea, right?

Hi,

Is there any reason that TSM delete some records of about one year's old?

Help for manually archiving with two drives

2004-10-15 Thread Tao Jiang
Hi, TSM users,

Is it 2003 Security or TSM API Issue?
Is there difference between TSM Client GUI and API?

System Configuration:

IBM Raid, IBM Server E Series 345, Tape Library 3583, 2 Tape Drive 3580 TD2
TSM Server 5.2.00, Client 5.2.00/ Windows 2003

To archive files from RAID to Tape Library, we would like two drives to archive files
at the same time. Manually archive with two job files, but the archiving speed is very
slow. Some files are missing, with errors:

> TSM Client Error: Server: PDSVIDEO6_SERVER1 Source: PDSVIDEO6_SERVER1
Node: MyNode Session Id: 265 ANE4006E Error processing
'[EMAIL PROTECTED]': directory path not
found
>
> TSM Client Error: Server: PDSVIDEO6_SERVER1 Source: PDSVIDEO6_SERVER1
Node: MyNode Session Id: 241 ANE4005E Error processing
'[EMAIL PROTECTED]': file not found
>

The speed is slow, observed that C drive is busy when archiving from RAID to Tape
Library.

Tried archive with one job file using one tape drive. No file is missing and no error
but speed is very slow.
Tried archive files from C drive to Tape, speed is normal and no error, with two
drives.
Tired archive files from RAID to Tape Library with TSM client GUI, no errors and speed
is normal.
