Tested todays (Feb 1) livecd and found that my patch is broken by commit
113cbe13dfb3935eeafec66ebbd813b358f7178b in hal-info.
The 0x7011 and 0x7211 should therefore split into separate entries.

Has there been any progress on this one?
Personally I've just blacklisted acer_wmi, but for some of my friends
who will upgrade to 9.04 when it is released will probably say "I have
to do what?" if I tell them to blacklist the acer_wmi module.
Will a blacklisting of acer_wmi negatively affect tho
@laurent: try power off, remove battery and power cord and wait a bit
(30 sec for instance). That has helped me earlier with similar, but not
the same, error messages.

Ok, I've tracked this down to the following (by copying my dapper

- With composite disabled in xorg.conf I get the above mentioned error messages

- Without composite disabled I don't get the AGP error, but I still have no DRI.

i82875_eac isn't loaded according to lsmod. Probably because this
computer runs on amd k7.
There might be some amd equivalent to i82875_eac that inteferes.
Just to reiterate: Dapper runs fglrx just fine. The problem is with
edgy.

Following the information above I did a search for amd76x_edac and found
Debian bug #363682.
Blacklisting amd76x_edac solves my problem (two problems actually, since
the messages in my syslog which I reported as bug #55204 stems from EDAC
too).
EDAC was introdused in 2.6.16, but for m
SOLVED!
Related to EDAC. Messages disappear when I blacklist amd76x_edac (see
bug #58193) and the messages reports hardware error.

Ok, I think I've found a solution that works. At least it works on my
computer.
I removed "install fglrx" from "install fglrx if cat ..." and a ^ inside
the regexp of /etc/modprobe.d/fglrx. I also had to add " | grep -v "#" |

don't have a typo in there somewhere? I don't get any warnings when I

OK. I have the warning message, just didn't notice it before since I was
rebooting from a remote location earlier. My bad.

I experience the same problem.
Tried to mount from a newly created local user account to check if that
solved the problem, but it didn't.
Hardy was originally installed as Alpha5, but up to date as of today.
