When this HP Pavilion DC9000 laptop comes out of sleep/hibernation, the
display freezes or flickers. I am forced to power off the laptop. I have
checked for propritory drivers in the software update section. One
driver is for the C67 [GeForce 7150M /nForce 630M. The other devi
I give up! People do not want to fix this BUG.
Now I understand the reason for title change and requests to make a report for
each hardware, it is simply to spread various reports, reduce the number of
people affected and not fixate on any of them.
Probably what causes failure is a change which

- 4.4.3: no problem, resume after suspend works
- 4.4.4: impossible to boot on the OS
- 4.4.5: bug of this report (system frozen after reboot) is reproduced

This did not happen with 15.10 on the Dell Computer
I upgrade a 2nd computer to 16.04 and there in order to get VMware V11 to open
the Image, I had to turn off Secure Boot in the ASUS Bios. (Probably unrelated)
But yes this only happens with 16.04 after Suspend Mode which we use quite

I am seeing the same behavior with a Dell Precision 3420 (Service Tag
318HFB2). No NVIDIA, just i7-6700 HD430, 1 or 2 monitors turned on.
Worked fine using defaualt DM (Unity) then installed gnome-shell and it
broke.

OK so I just installed 4.7 rc4:

again, pm-suspend does absolutely nothing. I'll attach strace output.

Clicking Suspend on XFCE produces much more verbose output in syslog.
Screen goes dark, mouse cursor is visible as rectangle with some junk
