You should write "majority of the Windows users". There are quite a few Windows users who can build sdcc using Cygwin or MinGW/MSys. After all, sdcc is not that difficult to be built, not like gpsim. I can only guess that there are less than 10 users in the world who has built gpsim under Windows. :-) > 2) MOST other OSs users prefer to compile their own. For sdcc's case, probably, since sdcc distribution inside popular Linux distros are usually outdated.
