I am biased so that I strongly recommended PICkit 2. You want to
learn PIC programming and not designing a programmer. It is only
US$35.

If your time is not worth much and you really want to get the
trouble, by all means you can try those simple programmers.
But do avoid JDM type.

I will not recommend any of them.
