Follow-up Comment #4, bug #58132 (project screen):

I've noted, that the problem depends on the terminal emulator.
I'm using https://st.suckless.org/

$ echo $TERM
st-256color

Changing the TERM value solves the issue
$ export TERM=xterm-256color
