Summary: Increase supported OSC length Project: GNU Screen Submitted by: egmont Submitted on: Sat 01 Feb 2020 05:47:40 PM UTC Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: None Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Work Required: None _______________________________________________________ Details: screen's maximum supported length for OSC sequences is around 768 characters. After that, parameters within the sequence begin to appear literally on the screen. The OSC 8 hyperlink feature (see via bug 50952) recommends that URLs of length up to 2083 bytes, an "id" of up to 250 bytes, and the necessary boilerplate (the ";id=" + ";" characters) are supported. In order to at least silently ignore OSC 8, without causing display problems if an app emits a long URL, could the OSC size limit please be increased to at least about 2400? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?57718> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
