Hi, I just looked through the commits on https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/screen.git/log/?h=screen-v4 since the 4.5.1 release and wondered, if there speaks anything against releasing them as 4.5.2.
Why? Because I'd cherry-pick for Debian 7 of the 10 screen-v4 commits made since 4.5.1: 11 days Add more serial speeds Amadeusz Sławiński 1 -26/+37 `-> This would fix a bug reported against Debian's screen package. 2017-05-30 screen: don't stat("") Christian Brauner 1 -1/+2 2017-04-18 add compat layer to handle both fifos and sockets Christian Brauner 8 -352/+365 2017-04-06 screen: handle pts devices in different namespaces Christian Brauner 6 -73/+163 2017-03-24 handle pty device from different namespace Christian Brauner 1 -2/+10 `-> These commits are already cherry-picked in Ubuntu's screen package and I'd also add them to Debian's screen package to reduce the difference to Ubuntu's package. 2017-03-22 fix mixing external & internal TERM Samuel Thibault 1 -0/+2 2017-02-28 [PATCH] fix texinfo syntax errors Andreas Stieger 1 -2/+2 `-> These commits are already cherry-picked in Debian's and in Ubuntu's screen package. Leaves only these three commits which I have no direct reason to cherry-pick them (which does not mean that I don't want them to be included, in contrary): 2017-04-18 fix typos Amadeusz Sławiński 2 -3/+3 2017-04-06 fix restoring cursor position after leaving altscreen Amadeusz Sławiński 2 -1/+9 2017-03-01 Cleanup patch for man page Eric S. Raymond 1 -1165/+1262 So I propose to release the current state of the screen-v4 branch more or less as it is as GNU Screen 4.5.2.
