Summary: Cannot unlock screen running as a user without password Project: GNU Screen Submitted by: None Submitted on: Mon 08 Aug 2016 02:35:05 AM UTC Category: User Interface Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: 4.0.3 Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Work Required: None _______________________________________________________ Details: If a user with no password locks a screen session by pressing Ctrl + A and X, there's no proper way to unlock the session. Steps to reproduce. 1. Make a user for test. 2. Remove the password from the new user with command: passwd -d [user] 3. Change(login) to the user. 4. run: screen 5. Press Control + A and then X to lock the session. What happens: The session locks, seems okay. However, typing Enter doesn't unlock the session despite the fact that there's no password for the user. What should happen: Pressing Enter key should just unlock the session. Or the session should not lock at all. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?48720> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
