Why Ctrl-A D is not suitable?

Screens inside screen is a normal method of work for me. One can get
used to sending Ctrl-A e.g. to a shell inside third level screen. It may
look like Morse code communication with the computer but I do not
complain. If it is to inconvenient one also redefine Ctrl-A to something
else for each additional screen level.
