You can either change ATR (see, for example, 
http://smartie.austin.apc.slb.com/forums/cybaccmisc/104.html) and/or put in 
apdu.waitExtension() calls when doing your instance creation.  ("new" and assignments 
to most variables will take time and will need
some waitExtension to avoid timeout.)

since it's part of the MUSCLE project).
