Subject: Re: MUSCLE Help where do I find cardlet loaders for linux?
If you are using a mailer that attaches html to the end of your messages, I
have to wonder about your taste.
In other time I used "pine" as my favourite mail reader (in a Linux environment), now I have to use Outlook which is the Corporate mail reader, at least it's not Lotus...

I think Schlumberger had a version of makesolo for linux at one time but
they dropped it.
Cyberflex is not really Javacard 2.0, and you need the Schlumberger sdk to
program it.
In theory, Javacard 2.1 adds linking (makesolo) and applet loading to the
spec, so that any sdk will work with any card. In practice I don't think
we're quite there yet. And I don't know of a complete linux solution yet.
I downloaded all the software from Sun with the JCWDE and the documentation and I did not see anything about the standard way of linking (a standard bytecode format for JavaCards or something like that), I mean, somewhere they talk about a CAP compiler but they just mention it and they do not give any details.
"Which is best" is somewhat subjective. Cyberflex has problems, but it was
the first, you can get it today, and it does work. When I order Cyberflex
cards or sdks from the web site they arrive the next day. I haven't had as
much luck with the others.
I was unable to buy the iButtons through the website and Gemplus does not offer a Web store to non-US buyers, and even for US people they do not offer everything in the web (they lack the JavaCards).
Schlumbergers look like the leader in the market but they do not have a JavaCard 2.1 compliant card yet (at least in the web) and they are not OCF compliant.
