Hi marc

I guess there is problem in your GCR410 Reader. When GCR410 is ON,
LED on reader continuously flashes with duration around 1 second.

If it does not, that means there is problem in your GCR410.

If you have Gemplus API4 with Windows 3.1/95/nt machine,
you just try to use same reader on any one of those
OS. If it does not work there, that means GCR410 has
     got problem.

     bye

Hi!

The variables COM1...COM4 are exported, but the program still reports a "Port
open error". The benchmark-program reports:
"00000264 : Couldn't Connect To Gemplus GCR 410 - Card/Reader ID ?".

I used strace to get the following messages from benchmark:

sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [CHLD], []) = 0
sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL) = 0
sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [CHLD], []) = 0
sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL) = 0
write(5, "GIOP\1\0\1\0\334\0\0\0\1\0\0\0\1"..., 232) = 232
sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [CHLD], []) = 0
sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL) = 0
select(1024, [4 5], [], [], {10, 0}) = 1 (in [5], left {10, 0})
read(5, "GIOP\1\0\1\1\f\0\0\0", 12) = 12
read(5, "\0\0\0\0\17\0\0\0\0\0\0\0", 12) = 12
read(5, 0x804f128, 12) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily
unavailable)
sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [CHLD], []) = 0
sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL) = 0
sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, [CHLD], []) = 0
sigprocmask(SIG_SETMASK, [], NULL) = 0
munmap(0x403f6000, 4096) = 0
munmap(0x403f7000, 4096) = 0
lseek(0, -1, SEEK_CUR) = -1 ESPIPE (Illegal seek)
munmap(0x403f8000, 4096) = 0
_exit(1) = ?

The LED at the reader never flashed while I was working. Can it be a hardware
damange of the card or the reader?

 Marc
