Hi,
the DIR command, to retrieve a file list under a DF is present in some
proprietary OS implementation, but it is not ISO standard, not GSM. It could
be considered an 'administrative' command, like Create/Delete File, not
necessary for the interoperability of the cards. I think a more important
function is the list of the applications present on the smart card. This is
standardized as TLV-coded list in a particular file under MF.

Enzo Romeo

Oggetto: MUSCLE Files in ISO 7816-4

Hi!
I would like to know how I can retrieve information about what files(EF)
and/or directories(DF) exist on an ISO 7816-4 smartcard (I'm working
with the OCF standard). Is it, for instance, possible to list files in a
directory (DF)? According to what I have read that's not possible. I
know that you should be able to find out about the files on a card by
analyzing the hex string return by a SELECT FILE command but I don't
know how to interpret that hexstring. I've read through the ISO 7816-4
document found on http://www.fh-augsburg.de/~bossekr/iso7816_4.html but
not found the solution of my problem. Any help would be very
appreciated!

regards
/Martin Sigbjörn
