I find your ideas interesting and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter =) I plan to host a voice conversation on Fridays on fsf.mumble.org (the FSF's mumble, which has a room or two open) during the 1pm-2pm ET hour of the FSD meeting. The goal is generally to network and answer questions and assist people geting help/started with GNU and Free Software related volunteering we might consider. We could probably use #savannah also (on libera.chat) if we want a more text centric option (notwithstanding things that come up that actually do belong in the FSD meeting that holds the floor in FSD: kinda a default topic for the voice "greeting room" call, as it has been discussed so far with Richard (and Ian and Zoe and a few others). Over time if the idea keeps up, I intend the forum to prioritize helping people find volunteering opportunities we are interested in. However, especially during the first few sessions, I expect not many people will come having specific questions about how to get involved with whatever GNU thing interests us. Maybe over time. But an hour of --even very miscellaneous-- Free Software chat each Friday afternoon seems pretty nice. Meanwhile: a good topic is handy to have, and this sounded like one to me so I thought I'd "claim" it. I'd love to discuss this further if you (and whomever, naturally) happened to feel inspired to join the FSF's mumble some Friday. Thanks for your comments (and to hi.niraanjan for the topic and the group generally for the discussion). Warmth, > Best regards, > > Lee Thomas Stephen >
