The system is overwhelmed. And I might say the primary system but up through now it is more accurate to say the system as there has been only one system. All of the eggs are in one basket. And that system does all things related to git. It must because we have up until now just the one hostname git.savannah.gnu.org for it. (That also applies to the .sv and .nongnu parts too. So git.sv.nongnu.org and the others too.) Which means that when the AI Crawlers and the large stupid botnets hammer on the system then it affects all of the parts of it. This takes out member ssh commit push access. And git http backend fetch access. And cgit and gitweb web browsing. And rsync access. And probably something else I have forgotten about already. > Same here. > I saw https://hostux.social/@fsfstatus/114428300466509630 > that suggests a mirror at https://https.git.savannah.gnu.org//git/ > > > Do you have any explanation what could be going on? > > Maybe the ongoing surge of LLM crawlers that is breaking a lot of > self-hosted git repos, but that's just a guess. It is an accurate guess. That's exactly what's happening. Everyone is seeing the problem. Bob
