Follow-up Comment #9, task #14618 (project administration):
I'd suggest keeping the sources in the tarball, this would make your
redistributors' job much easier.
If you don't, under the GPL they'll have to either add the sources themselves
or to provide a written offer valid for at least three years &c. to give them
on request. Your tarball wouldn't be redistributable as is (in particular,
Savannah mirrors wouldn't have a permission to distribute it).
