That wouldn't be hard, but I'm not sure that would help.

When Savane sends a notification to an external email (as opposed
to a user), it doesn't insert those lines at all because they
are to include the user ID to reply on behalf of, and it isn't
defined.

I think I don't understand how the de-duplication works.  Does
it take the body from one message and the headers from another?
