Summary: Cyrillic letters scrubbed from comment in mail->ticket gateway Group: Savannah Administration Submitter: gbranden Submitted: Mon 14 Oct 2024 10:16:00 PM UTC Category: Savannah trackers - bugs, tasks, etc. Priority: 5 - Normal Severity: 3 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Email: Operating System: None Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Mon 14 Oct 2024 10:16:00 PM UTC By: G. Branden Robinson <gbranden> In comment #6 to _groff_ bug #66332, I included in my email the name of the bug submitter, which is "наб" (Cyrillic letters). The mail->gateway appears to have scrubbed these characters out before populating the comment. Ideally, they'd be supported. As a fallback, replacing them with "?" or Unicode replacement characters (U+FFFD) would do a better job of informing the reader that the content of the comment had been altered or was somehow malformed. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.nongnu.org/support/?111135> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.nongnu.org/
