Hello N,
From: N Subject: Re: Frontend upgrade issue report Date: Mon, 8 Apr 2024 17:26:54 -0700Just an FYI in case no one has mentioned it already, it appears that after the web server frontend upgrade, the site is not automatically redirecting http -> https connections resulting in insecure connections on a number of browsers (when the short email is typed in without an explicit https:// atthe front of "savannah.gnu.org"). I infrequently check the site, and my browser choked on this in standard goose-chase fashion. This is often considered a misconfiguration, and its fairly normal toredirect to https using a 301 (permanent), or 302 (in temporary cases). If there is a reason for not redirecting in this way, it might be good to postit when soliciting reports of issues following upgrades.
IIRC, you will be permanently redirected to https: only when you login and access account stuff. Plain http is still supported. This is intentional, as a decision made by gnu.org.
