I decided I would test the limits and create the list manually. I don't think
the characters are a mail restriction but there might be something in the
automation which prevents it. A useful experiment and regardless of the
result I will learn something. Maybe I will learn that it is not allowed!
In any case I created the list and set it up but there is something preventing
it from being immediately available. However many things at *gnu.org are done
by repeating cronjobs run at intervals.
I am going to delay for a bit, at least an hour, and then come back and test
to see if it is available at that time yet or not.
