Yes, you can create your own git repository by enabling the feature as you
have described. I see that you have created your git repository. Done.
Good.
However you are also asking for a repository for web pages. If this is for
the https://www.gnu.org/software/g-golf/ then unfortunately I must report that
only CVS is supported by the FSF for updating those web pages.
