Details:
There is a romanized version of Singhala actively used in several linguistic
projects and web sites and blogs that we would like to be included with new
Linux distributions. See it in action at these places:
http://lovatasinhala.com/
http://ratinliyum.blogspot.com/
The attachments show what changes we propose for Sri Lanka's keyboard layout.
This is an adaptation of QWERTY, making it intuitive to type Singhala when
combined with an orthographic smartfont.
What is the best way to go about getting this variant included across the
board for Linux?
ATTACHMENTS:
The attachment lk would be the new Layout file under symbols directory (or
symbols/pc).
When this addition is made, the base.lst and/or evdev.lst inside the rules
directory will have the entry set as given in the attachment
evdev-base.lst.txt.
And <layout> tags for 'lk' in the base.xml and/or evdev.xml files will contain
the lines as given in evdev-base.xml.txt file.
