Thanks. I did bzr checkout bzr+ssh://r...@bzr.savannah.gnu.org/emacs/trunk trunk in a properly prepared directory, and it has now run about 27 minutes without producing any output. It has created a couple of subdirectories such a trunk and .bzr but has obtained no source files.
