It seems that I can't modify the `description' file mentioned in the
attached mail by myself using git commands.  How can I access them?
Or is this something you must do?

The description files in the repos need to be set.

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/r/freetype/freetype2.git/description
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/r/freetype/freetype2-demos.git/description

are the direct URLs to the files in question.

I can't tell from sv's docs how one could edit them; it may require a
support request....
