Summary: dealing with spam and blacklisting: respond_to_post_request=no and listhelper Project: Savannah Administration Submitted by: sick_soul Submitted on: Friday 08/11/2006 at 06:25 Category: Project mailing lists Priority: 5 - Normal Severity: 2 - Minor Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Email: Operating System: None Open/Closed: Open _______________________________________________________ Details: Our lists.gnu.org was blacklisted again, and maybe some changes to the defaults could help in the future. It seems to me that setting respond_to_post_requests=no by default would help, together with admin_immed_notify=yes. Some of the GNU projects have listhelper at gnu dot org as a moderator, which helps a lot dealing with spam. This has proven to work well in practice, reducing the amount of handwork required to deal with spam sensibly. Maybe it could be made a default?
