Thanks for the quick response. This is the text from my terminal.

failed: Connection refused

I am on a corporate intranet, but we don't have any blocking policy that I am
aware of. I can ping the server ok. Here is some more things I have tried:

So it looks like the port is a problem.

telnet cvs.savannah.gnu.org 2401
