Savannah's log_accum appears to have diverged significantly from the version in CVS. I imported your change anyhow, as well as updating the previously broken CVS log_accum (some cvshome.org specific changes had been accidentally imported) to accept email addresses on the command line again, as Savannah's does.
I think CVS's log accum currently has fewer bugs than Savannah's in regards to generating diffs. It would be interesting to hear what other features the Savannah-hackers thought it lacked.
