Hi, I have just been browsing a project in Savannah and found it very confusing in interpreting the date on the savannah pages. When browsing the mailing list archive, I noticed that the ISO date format is used.
The current format day mm/dd/yyyy at hh:mm is most confusing for non-American readers. The date 01/12/2002 can be interpreted as opposite ends of the year. The ISO format which is used a great deal by the open source community leaves no ambiguity. viz. yyyy/mm/dd hh:ss It does not take up any more space and is universally understood by all. It is also the most logical format in that the most significant item, the year, is to the left, which is the most significant part of a printed number ... If you feel you have to put the month first, why not use mmm (e.g. jul) to resolve the ambiguity, as in jul/24/2003. However 2003/07/24 is preferable.
