No, it's not possible. The http server is a different computer that fetch 
files via cvs. 
It could be possible to make it works with rsync too but it's not planned - 
we have lot of things to improve before.

Is it possible to maintain the Webpages at savanna in a
non-CVS way, meaning simply uploading them with
scp/rsync? Since I have many projects with automaticly
generated webpages, which source is already in CVS, an
extra CVS for the generated webpages seems rather
unnecessary.

Is there any better workaround for this issue than
simply uploading a redirection page to the web-CVS tree
and storing the final pages in the download area at
http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/$PROJECT/?
