Hi, I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.
I'm not familiar with getopt as I'm no C developer. That said, I believe that the GNU getopt already provides the features you mention - but I may be wrong. There is also http://packages.debian.org/stable/devel/opt.html that seems to provide something similar. If you think that GNU getopt should be enhanced, you should ask the GNU getopt people if they are willing to accept your patches. If you think that your project will provide something that the others getopts cannot, you are welcome to resubmit your project, explaining what you bring new, and why it cannot be added to GNU getopt (for example if the getopt people does not agree with you). Please register your project once more with the changes mentioned above. The way we handle pending projects makes it difficult to keep track of projects that have been answered but have not been approved yet, so we erase them and we ask you to register the project again every time some change has to be done to the registration, and users might have to register their projects several times. Thank you for your understanding. Some users find it useful to use the big re-registration URL provided in the acknowledgment e-mail you received after registration.
