Category: CVS Status: Closed Priority: 3 Summary: webcvs problem By: simons+savannah Date: Wed 04/02/2003 at 13:37 Logged In: YES user_id=267 Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20030325 I guess it's best to start all over again. :-) Here is what I did: (1) I added a directory called "dtd/xhtml1" to the webcvs tree on subversions. Due to the synchronization with www.gnu.org, the directory showed up in the checked-out copy of the repository: | [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/www/html/software/ac-archive$ ls -ld dtd/xhtml1 | drwxrwxr-x 3 webcvs www-data 4096 Jan 9 13:42 dtd/xhtml1 (2) I realized that I added the directory in the wrong place. So I logged into subversions.gnu.org and erased the directory directly in the _file_ _system_: | [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rmdir /webcvs/software/ac-archive/dtd/xhtml1 This removed the directory from CVS, but the checked-out copy on gnudist is still there! So when I log into gnudist and update the checked-out copy of the web server manually, I see: | [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/home/www/html/software/ac-archive$ cvs up | cvs server: Updating . | cvs server: Updating C++_Support | cvs server: Updating C_Support | cvs server: Updating Cross_Compilation | cvs server: Updating Installed_Packages | cvs server: Updating Java_Support | cvs server: Updating Miscellaneous | cvs server: Updating dtd | cvs server: Updating dtd/xhtml1 | cvs server: cannot open directory | /webcvs/software/ac-archive/dtd/xhtml1: No such file or | directory | cvs server: skipping directory dtd/xhtml1 | cvs server: Updating htmldoc | cvs server: Updating m4source What I need you to do in order to fix this (minor) problem, is to log into gnudist.gnu.org and execute rm -rf /home/www/html/software/ac-archive/dtd/xhtml1 With the appropriate privileges. That is all there is to it. I'd do it myself, but the system gives me "permission denied". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- By: yeupou Date: Mon 02/10/2003 at 16:14 Logged In: YES user_id=1896 Browser: Mozilla/5.0 Galeon/1.2.7 (X11 ; GNU / Linux 2.4.21-pre4 i686 ; [EMAIL PROTECTED]) I still to not get how to fix this. Please Jaime take a look when you have time. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://savannah.gnu.org/support/?func=detailsupport&support_id=101746&group_id=11 _______________________________________________ Savannah-hackers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/savannah-hackers
