No, what they suggested was that Savannah put in your credentials as you
were logged in to Savannah.

If I go to Savannah, without moving in, I get this :

cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonym...@cvs.savannah.gnu.org:/sources/gnubg co gnubg

So there's nothing to worry about.
