Please let us know which settings besides lineart you're using on the side
of your frontends, especially the resolution(dpi).
This looks like something I've seen with a different model in the LiDe
series but I'm not entirely sure as it's been a while since I had to deal
with it. Please open a terminal and enter the following command: scanimage
test.pnm
Then open the working directory of your bash(usually your home directory),
find the test.pnm file and check if it's an actual scan of your photo.

Thank you for the fast reply.
I use the following model -
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/>canoscan_lide_700f
The drivers for 700F are not functioning. When try to scan photo via
flatbed, the scanner doesn`t >move and makes some strange noise. The
scanned image is grey lines. I`m including the snapshot. The scanner
itself is working, because >I tested today on friend Windows XP.
Kooka produces similar results.
Neither flatbed nor transparency adapter are working.

it must be. Canon is not actually listing any scanner under the name
"CanoScan 700F" but a "CanoScan LiDe 700F".
There IS a series of scanners called "CanoScan ####F" without the prefix
"LidDe" but all the serial numbers in this series have four digits
instead
of the "LiDe" series' three digits. So maybe this is a misnomer and the
entry "CanoScan 700F" in the list of supported devices should be renamed
to "CanoScan LiDe 700F".

CanoScan 700F is listed as supported by the genesys backend. Is that
not the same scanner?

Hello,
I want to report for unsupported scanner - Canon Canoscan LiDE 700F.
It`s not in none of your lists, and I cloudn`t find any driver wich may
provide even basic usability.
If I can help you with addional information about the scanner - I`d
love to
help. Unfortunately I don`t have any programming skills.
OS - Linux OpenSUSE 13.2
