Hello to the sane! I'm a new kid on this block, but I have decades of experience in scientific computing, so I hope I'm not too much of a bother.
I have a Canon Pixma MX 925 Print-Copy-Scan-Fax device and a lenovo laptop running ubuntu 14.04. The list on www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html has an entry for Canon PIXMA MX920 Series, Status: Untested, and Comment: Testers needed! I have tried to follow the instructions I found on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SANE%20-%20Installing%20a%20scanner%20that%20isn%27t%20auto-detected, but they didn't seem to be quite right. I would be happy to test your software on my MX 925 in exchange for some help doing so.
