Hi I just purchased this scanner yesterday.
Using Ubuntu 14.04 X86_64. Tried it with the standard 1.0.23 that came with Ubuntu. Didn't work obviously. Then I downloaded the latest GIT devel package and tried "hacking" it by find and replacing all the references to the earlier Canon CanoScan Lide110 in the following files (including the USB product ID): -genesys.c -genesys_devices.c -genesys_gl124.c -genesys_gl124.h -genesys_low.h and then ./configure -> make -> sudo make install to no avail. It of course detects it with sane-find-scanner and gives me the USB manufacturer and product ID... 0x04a9 0x190e as well as claims that the chipset is a GL848+ (which is known from previous testing with other canon models that is not an accurate result). any chance of getting the old bird working? It really has not much difference to the previous LiDe110 model as far as I can see (same sensor, physical size, speed of motors etc...).
