I've just buy a new printer, and for it to work with sane, I had to
change two thinks to libsane conf files:
I added
# Samsung SCX-3400
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04e8", ATTRS{idProduct}=="344f", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
to the udev rules, and
#Samsung SCX-3400
usb 0x04e8 0x344f
to the xerox_mfp.conf
With both change, the scanner work.
I already submitted a bug report against libsane about this, but I've
just seen the indication in the udev rule that I should report it also
here.
