Hello everyone, (sorry I already posted on sane-standard but it was a wrong choice).
thank you to have this mailing list for sane which is a great software. My problem is following : I just bought this scanner : Canon CanoScane n1240u, which is supported as far I know by sane, with the plustek backend. http://www.sane-project.org/man/sane-plustek.5.html http://www.gjaeger.de/scanner/plustek/ When I do sane-find-scanner, I got the following output : # sane-find-scanner will now attempt to detect your scanner. If the # result is different from what you expected, first make sure your # scanner is powered up and properly connected to your computer. # No SCSI scanners found. If you expected something different, make sure that # you have loaded a kernel SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter. found USB scanner (vendor=0x04a9, product=0x220e, chip=LM983x?) at libusb:002:002 # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by # SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage. # Not checking for parallel port scanners. # Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports # can't be detected by this program. # You may want to run this program as root to find all devices. Once you # found the scanner devices, be sure to adjust access permissions as # necessary. Unfortunately, scanimage doesn't work for this backend. Even the rotors are not doing a little noise, neither the light is powered. So, I would like to take advidce, cause I would really like make this scanner working. Thank you very much, and thank you overall for sane. See you later, David
