I don't know exactly how long I can test it, maybe a week or so. Unfortunately I am far away to get the scanner working. First I tried to use the driver for the 8800F with Opensuse 11.2, but the driver cannot be found with the yast scanner-installation. Is there a repo for Opensuse 11.2 which contains the 8800F driver? I would like to try, if I can use it with the 9000F. uname -r 2.6.31.12-0.2-default rpm -qa | grep -i sane xsane-0.997-11.1.i586 sane-backends-1.0.20-8.3.i586 sane-backends-autoconfig-1.0.20-8.3.i586 lsusb Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub hwinfo --short cpu: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2400+, 2000 MHz keyboard: /dev/input/event0 AT Translated Set 2 keyboard mouse: /dev/input/mice ImExPS/2 Generic Explorer Mouse monitor: Generic Monitor graphics card: nVidia GeForce2 MX/MX 400 sound: Trident Microsystems 4DWave NX VIA Hoontech ST Audio DSP 24 storage: Floppy disk controller VIA VT6420 SATA RAID Controller VIA VT82C586A/B/VT82C686/A/B/VT823x/A/C PIPC Bus Master IDE network: eth0 D-Link DFE-530TX rev A network interface: lo Loopback network interface eth0 Ethernet network interface disk: /dev/sda IC35L120AVV207-1 partition: /dev/sda1 Partition /dev/sda2 Partition /dev/sda5 Partition /dev/sda6 Partition /dev/sda7 Partition /dev/sda8 Partition /dev/sda9 Partition /dev/sda10 Partition cdrom: /dev/sr0 TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1612 floppy: /dev/fd0 Floppy Disk usb controller: VIA VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller VIA VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller VIA VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller VIA USB 2.0 bios: BIOS bridge: VIA VT8377 [KT400/KT600 AGP] Host Bridge VIA VT8237/VX700 PCI Bridge VIA VT8235 ISA Bridge hub: Linux 2.6.31.12-0.2-default ehci_hcd EHCI Host Controller Linux 2.6.31.12-0.2-default uhci_hcd UHCI Host Controller Linux 2.6.31.12-0.2-default uhci_hcd UHCI Host Controller Linux 2.6.31.12-0.2-default uhci_hcd UHCI Host Controller memory: Main Memory unknown: FPU DMA controller PIC Timer Keyboard controller /dev/lp0 Parallel controller PS/2 Controller Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device Unclassified device /dev/ttyS0 16550A /dev/ttyS1 16550A With Windows XP, I installed 9000fwin1601ea24.exe The readme says, it installed a Twain driver. StarOffice 5.2 doesn't recognize the Scanner. Any suggestion for Windows XP, that the scanner is recognized by the system? I don't want to install the packaged software, which came with the driver. I can't see the scanner with usbsnoop. I attach a screenshot. If the screenshot is removed in the mail, let me know and I upload it on my webspace. I ask you very kindly for a quick response, because I have to give the scanner back very soon.
