Hi folks, a long time ago I started writing a driver for the Canoscan 4400F (which is GL843-based) and development has come fairly far along. It's almost usable even. However, the project has languished since February, and it doesn't look like it will change anytime soon, for two reasons:
First, I've started capturing documents with a camera, and rarely if ever need to scan photos, so the flatbed scanner has not seen any use at all for several months. And second, I simply have not had much time to spare lately. It sucks to have to admit it but by the way things are going, someone else will probably have to finish the driver. :/ If anyone is willing to take over the project, please go ahead and have a look at the git tree. You'll notice that most bits are there, but that it needs some odds and ends and perhaps a rewrite before it can be included into SANE.
