don't know if I'm right here but found on my Gentoo (~amd64) system that
the file /etc/udev/rules.d/70-libsane.rules
doesn't has the configuration for my scanner (Brother DCP-185C), here is
the relevant section:
# Brother DCP-185C
ATTRS{idVendor}=="04f9", ATTRS{idProduct}=="0205", MODE="0664",
GROUP="scanner", ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
I just found at the beginning of the above mentioned file, that non
listed scannes should be mailed to this email-adress.
I would be happy to hear a reply
