Hello, you'd rather use a recent sane release which contains support for rts8891 based scanners instead of sane-backends-rts8891.tar.gz. This tar ball is an old one kept for historic purpose. I suppose you can find SANE 1.0.20 backport for your distribution. Regards, Stef
