[sane-devel] sane backend for Canon MF4100

A while ago I managed to get my Canon MF4100 working with sane. I
posted a few simple steps at

Recently I upgraded the OS on my machine and was hoping the scanner
backend for this MFP will have been added into sane-backend by now...
Unfortunately it looks like I still need to compile from the latest
CVS.
How frequently are official updates released? Looks like the last one
was made in early 2008.
