Thank you allan for the information, I am curious, why is the hpaio backend separated from the sane development team, it very annoying i have a few outstanding bugs someway related to hpaio or hplip with cups. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=517083 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=516982 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=513493 As far as I know HP is the only vendor that tells to support linux printing, but the way that do it seems to be counter effective, do they work with upstream? How about QA? Why not merge with sane and cups? I would really like to see all hp scanner and printers be merged with sane and cups so there is one system that supports multiple backends. Any thoughts? Best regards, Jelle
