Hi folks, I've recently had serious trouble with getting my HP ScanJet G2710 run with SANE. As suggested in http://jkdsoftware.dyndns.org/drupal/?q=en/forums/hp3900-series/248 I used the hp3900 SANE backend, but sane-find-scanner does not recognize the scanner correctly:
found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [hewlett packard], product=0x2805 [hp scanjet], chip=RTS8822) at libusb:004:004 I looked into the corresponding config files (hp3900.conf, usb.ids)...but there the G2710 was referenced with the correct USB product ID. I am using openSUSE 11.1 x86_64 with the SANE libs in RPM form (it's a producttion machine so that I'm tring to use RPM-packaged programs only): veteran:/home/jacek # rpm -q sane-backends sane-backends-1.0.19-128.106 What is the problem? G2710 support missing in the RPM-packaged SANE backends? Thank you for any useful hints. Kind regards Jacek ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zobacz najlepsze oferty nieruchomosci! Sprawdz >>> http://link.interia.pl/f205d
