This may help - I was also interested in the Avision for the ADF and duplex scanning but instead bought an HP Photosmart C7280. It has an ADF but doesn't do duplex and it has WiFi, ethernet and USB interfaces. ADF scanning works fine on linux (have to install hplip) and for duplex I use a perl script and turn the pages over after scanning the fronts to scan the backs, and the script sorts the images into the correct order.
