Please try with bit 4+5 of frontend setup register 1 set to 3:
{0x00, 0x3f, 0x03, 0x26},
...
And, while you are at it, try if you can get setup register 2, bits 0+1
set to 0 to work. that may affect the position of the data, so you may
need to fiddle with gl842 registers 0x52-0x57.
